The gap between a coffee machine and a staffed bar
Workplace beverage provision tends to be binary. There is a coffee machine, which runs unattended and therefore always works, and there is catered service for events, which requires booking staff. Nothing covers the middle: a broad range of fresh cold beverages available on demand throughout the day.
That gap matters more than it used to. Offices compete on amenity, campuses serve populations with wide preferences, and institutional cafeterias are asked to broaden what they offer without proportional increases in headcount.
A self-service beverage machine closes the gap directly. It runs like the coffee machine — always on, no staff — but the output range is much wider.
How self-service deployment works
The four-step flow is designed for an untrained user: place the glass, select from the on-screen menu, authenticate, pour. The 11-inch control panel carries the menu, so no app install or briefing is required.
Authentication is where corporate deployments differ from hospitality ones. QR, NFC and card support means access can be tied to an employee badge, restricted to certain hours, allocated as an allowance, or charged back to a department or cost centre. Alcohol service, where relevant, can be gated to specific events or times rather than being available by default.
Recipes are stored centrally, so a multi-site organisation can offer an identical menu at every location.
Fit for campuses and institutions
For campuses, the volume profile is spiky and the population is price-sensitive — self-service with card or UPI payment handles both without a staffed till. For corporate cafeterias, the machine extends the service window beyond staffed hours, which is often when demand is least well served.
Because every pour is metered and recorded, consumption reporting comes as a by-product. That supports both stock planning and internal chargeback, which are usually manual processes in a pantry setting.
The Classic and Fusion systems are the common choices here — Fusion where carbonated drinks dominate, Classic where menu breadth matters.
